Good Morning Britain: Jeremy Kyle had a rather prickly encounter on the ITV show [ITV]
Hero the Hedgehog joined stand-in host Jeremy Kyle and regulars Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins to give the presenters some love and attention.
The London World Athletics Championships mascot was designed by a nine year old after a nationwide search along with Blue Peter to find the next furry friend.
But the lively animal proved to be playing with Kate’s luscious locks a bit too much, joking: “I’m getting a bit annoyed with him now. I’m having too much attention.”
Jeremy Kyle, who of course is a household name for the show named after him, then quipped: “In the words of another programme, get off my stage!”

Hero didn’t take too kindly to his words as he started repeatedly whacking him with a newspaper before storming off stage and throwing the weapon behind him.
After the prickly pal’s exit from the show, Kate Garraway mused: “He’s a bit of a silent assassin isn’t he?”
“We were told he was a lovely hedgehog – don’t speak to him, just nod,” added Jeremy as the hedgehog made his way back to the studio from the wings to defend himself.
Later in the show, Jeremy mentioned his ordeal by revealing to the audience that may have missed it that he was “attacked” by a hedgehog live on air and so he thinks he might be able to handle making a Twitter account.
Good Morning Britain: Jeremy Kyle and Kate Garraway also hit back at comments about shuffling papers [ITV]
Kate then asked if she and the breakfast team could set Jeremy up on Twitter to allow the Twittersphere to be “unleashed” on the outspoken presenter.
Fans have noticed that Jeremy keeps shuffling yellow papers on the desk and flooded social media with comments about the “annoying” habit.
The comments haven’t got unnoticed with the hosts who addressed the criticism today, and vowed to keep on ruffling those pads.
Meanwhile, viewers are loving having Jeremy around with one tweeting: “It’s snowing men and hedgehogs. Kate’s looking very happy sat on the #GMB throne next to Jeremy x”.

But not everyone is totally used to it yet with one fan tweeting that it was still “strange” not seeing Piers.
