Strictly Come Dancing 2017 has had BBC viewers on the edge of their seats, with Alexandra Burke, Aston Merrygold and Debbie McGee in particular standing out for their dancing technique.

Debbie was given two scores of nine by the judges, and scored a very impressive 34 for her routine with Giovanni Pernice, and the judges even gave a standing ovation for Alexandra.

However, not everyone is impressed, with many fans angry that some contestants have had prior dance training.

And some even classed it ‘cheating’, especially after it emerged Debbie is a trained ballet dancer, and Alexandra and Aston both have had dance training in the past, with Aston even acting as a judge on Sky One’s Got To Dance.

“Debbie McGee was a professional dancer for most of her life! How is that even fair??!” one fan moaned on Twitter.

Another added: “Aston and Alexandra also have dance training from young age and professional experience. Maybe not a surprise those 3 are at the top of Strictly leaderboard.”

“I thought the point of #Strictly was that one of the couple had to not be a professional dancer?” one viewer asked.

However, some Strictly fans didn’t see the problem.

One commented: “People still going on that Aston is a professional dancer, go watch the JLS tours, I never saw them dance the foxtrot!”
