Coronation Street: Viewers were left confused over Gary Windass’ injuries [ITV]
Only a few weeks ago, Gary Windass flew off to the Ukraine on a security job, desperate to earn some money to pay back his debts owed after working uninsured on a building site.
Despite protestation from girlfriend Sarah Platt, Mikey North’s character refused to stay in Weatherfield and their relationship was in tatters as he headed to the airport.
On Monday, the ex-army man returned to Coronation Street after his job and reunited with Tina O’Brien’s character but Gary struck off Sarah’s advances to take things up to the bedroom, lying that he wanted to spend time with his son Jake.
However, Gary winces in pain and pulled up his top to check on his horrific injuries just as Sarah was out of sight – but viewers were left distracted by the claw-like marks on Gary’s skin.

Taking to social media, one fan gasped: “So erm Gary was attacked by Wolverine?! @itvcorrie #corrie.”
While another viewer laughed: “Has Gary been attacked by a Ukrainian bear? #Corrie.”
“Sorry but did Gary get bitten by a shark? #coronationstreet @itvcorrie #Corrie,” wondered somebody else.
Several viewers were concerned with his “odd” injury, while many felt sorry for Gary and the pain he must have endured.

And those watching were left even more concerned as Gary discussed going back for a second job to earn more money, which he told Sarah could be enough for a deposit.
“Those injuries looked painful, Gary you can’t risk going back for a second time! #Corrie,” urged a different user.
A fifth person begged: “Gary carrying on this job is only going to end in tears! Is it really worth it putting yourself and your family through that #corrie.”
Will Sarah find out the extent of Gary’s injuries? And can she stop him flying back before it’s too late?
