Coronation Street’s Shelley Unwin set to return to the soap?: Actress Sally Lindsay has revealed that she would never say never to returning to her role as Shelley Unwin in Coronation Street [Wenn]
The actress played the role of Rovers Return landlady Shelley Unwin from 2001 to 2006.
During her five years on the famous cobbles, Shelley went through a lot from finding out that her husband Peter Barlow was a bigamist to being abused by builder Charlie Stubbs who was later killed by Tracy Barlow.
Despite leaving the street ten years ago, Shelley still has links to the street as Peter and his son by Lucy are still residents there.
So, could this be the perfect time for Sally to return to her role?

Hinting that she wouldn’t turn the offer down, the star told Woman’s Own: “I always say never say never but at the moment, no, I love Coronation Street and I had a wonderful time there.”
However, if and when Sally does decide to return, she’ll have to play catch up with the episodes.
“I don’t watch it now though, it’s like looking at your old workplace,” she added.
“I get the odd person who is such a die-hard fan that you’ll never be anything else.
“So if I won an Oscar I’d still be Shelley and I’m absolutely fine with that!”
News of Sally’s possible return to the ITV soap comes after the return of a few familiar faces.

Coronation Street: Toyah Battersby returned to Weatherfield on Christmas Day [ITV]
On Christmas Day, Leanne Battersby and Nick Tilsley were given a shock when Toyah turned up in Weatherfield and declared that her marriage was over.
Not only that, but she was having an affair.
Having left the street 13 years ago, Toyah’s return held even more surprises when it was revealed that the man she was having an affair with was Leanne’s former husband Peter Barlow.
Speaking about her return, actress Georgia Taylor said: “I think it’s an interesting thing when you go back to somewhere that you grew up as a child and you’ve been away for a long time and the reasons for that.
“I think obviously Leanne is a huge part of that and although they haven’t been on screen together they’ve still obviously kept in touch.
“I think she’s reached a real crossroads and she just wants that support. Also, there are other people on the street like Roy who she’s also very close to.”
