Welcome to my OK! Online pregnancy blog guys! [Emma McVey]
I’m so excited to announce my new pregnancy blog with OK! Online, I hope you enjoy sharing my third trimester with me as we count down to baby’s arrival!
Gary and I have had a pretty busy week as we’ve been sorting a mortgage out to buy a house, it’s been exciting! We’re in one now but it’s four floors high and we didn’t realise just how annoying that would be. This one’s got a huge garden and it’s more like a family home.
I’ve just reached the six month mark, I feel heavy and I feel like in the last few days my bump is just starting to appear properly, I’m aching a lot and I’m really top heavy.
We’re so excited to become parents – not long now! [Emma McVey]
My boobs are growing and I’m getting back ache, but apart from that I’m enjoying it, although I’m finding clothing hard, I’m practically living in one pair of leggings!
I thought my pregnancy was going to go really slow, but now we’re counting down it’s going faster and faster, it’s going to be no time and he’s going to be here, we can’t wait!
The most amazing part of pregnancy so far has been the baby scans, we really enjoy them. Finding out the gender was a big moment for us, I knew how much Gary wanted it to be a boy, he was over the moon.
We had a scan a few weeks back that was really good because you could see his features, Gary had a tear in his eye, he gets really emotional! He just keeps saying how he keeps noticing babies all the time, he’s like a different person.
Gary was convinced the baby looked the double of him, but then when I put him on Instagram everyone was saying he looked like me! He’s got such a long time to develop a little bit more, although I think he’s going to end up looking a lot like Gary, he does have my mouth though, it’s really weird how much you can see, I didn’t think you’d be able to tell that much, but you really can.
The 4D baby scan was an amazing experience [Emma McVey] Body changes
Following the pregnancy I’d like to get back into modelling, but I’m not too worried about my changing body.

I’ve tried to stay quite healthy, not just because I want my body to look good, but more because I feel so drained when I eat bad I end up feeling even worse, obviously I’ve been pigging out and eating takeaways and stuff, but it’s been balanced.
I have been trying to workout but I’ve had sciatica so I’ve completely lost my bum as I can’t do many leg exercises. The pain has been really bad, it happens when the baby moves.
I don’t really mind though, I just want to enjoy the last ten weeks, and then afterwards concentrate on preparing for work. I will go back to work after the baby is here, but obviously not every day shooting.
My body has changed a lot throughout my pregnancy [Emma McVey] Small baby bump criticism
I’ve had a bit of criticism about the size of my bump, people think there’s no baby bump but my waist has always been so tiny and for me it’s grown so much. It still looks small, so I don’t think people realise it has changed. If you look at pictures before I was pregnant, you can tell easily.
My sister was tiny with her first and then with her second she put four stone on, I think it just depends, especially with how much water you carry too.
He’s growing big, he’s a long baby, he’s actually got really long legs according to the measurements, when he’s here I think people will be actually shocked at how big he’ll be.
The only thing that bothers me is when people say I’m unhealthy or I’m affecting the baby because they have no idea. If they could see what I eat, and how much I eat, I think they’d be shocked.

When someone says your not looking after your baby it’s quite upsetting, you’ve just got to learn to ignore it. Some people have tiny bumps and big babies, while some people with huge bumps have tiny babies.
Gary’s in the public eye so he does try to give me advice and tells me to ignore it, ignore it, ignore it! I think sometimes it’s harder for a girl – especially when you’ve got so many hormones – just to ignore everything, we’re still human and some comments still hurt us.
When I get too stressed though I just have a bath, it’s my new thing, I never used to get the whole bath thing, and now I love a bath with candles. To be fair, Gary likes to run me a bath and tells me to turn my phone off, it’s good for me, and when I’m in there I use kokolokahi bath & body oil to help me relax, I’m so happy it can be used while I’m pregnant and on the baby too when he arrives as I love their oils.

We’ve already decided on a theme for the nursery, elephants are our thing at the moment, I’m obsessed with them so we’ve got a few cuddly ones.
I quite like the idea of keeping everything quite neutral so we’re going for white and grey, we’ve ordered quite a lot of things so we’re just waiting for them to arrive now.
We need to start getting the essentials in more than anything, it’s confusing us a little bit but we’re going to the Birmingham Baby Show, Gary is really excited about that! He loves picking things out, luckily we agree on a lot of the things but he has let me choose the pram.
Elephants are our new thing! [Emma McVey] Gary preparing to be a dad
Gary has really surprised me, he wants to start doing some classes to learn more and he’s constantly asking questions.
Everyone’s baby is different, so everyone has different answers, so he’s a little bit panicky now it’s getting closer. He’s really excited about it and he will be a good dad.
We’re in Newcastle for this weekend for Gary’s mum’s 60th this weekend, so it should be lovely!
Gary’s little nephew will be there and he finds it crazy how quickly he’s growing up, he’s only two but Gary can’t believe how much he can already do, especially when he look back to last Christmas, how much they change in a year is mad!
Gary can’t wait to become a dad! [Emma McVey]
That’s all this week!
Lots of love,
