The Great British Bake Off returned to Channel 4 and received mixed reviews [Wenn]
Minus Mary Berry and Mel and Sue, the new Great British Bake Off on Channel 4 has been greeted with many mixed reviews.
From fans and viewers being “weirded out” by Noel Fielding’s presenting skills to Paul Hollywood giving one too many handshakes, people are completely split in their opinions.
However, while we were all paying lots of attention to the GBBO newbies, there were some very important and hilarious moments we all missed.
From a rather panicked contestant to the biggest cake criticism, here’s the essential parts of The Great British Bake Off 2017 you need to know about:
Julia was spotted running around the Bake Off tent in the first episode [Wenn] Julia’s erratic running
Julia from West Sussex has already become one of this year’s favourites to win.
And while everyone was loving to watch the 21 year old, they did notice something rather entertaining about her ways – she ran everywhere.
Spotting her habit, one viewer wrote: “Is running around behind everyone else talking going to be Julia’s signature characterist #GBBO.”
Another added: “GBBO Julia is melting my head already, all that running around.”
Paul Hollywood struggled with a lot of dry cakes on the debut episode The Great British Bake Off [Wenn] So many dry comments
With 12 new contestants and three rounds of baking to judge, Paul and new judge Prue Leith – who made a shocking confession about the show – had their work cut out.
However, it seems there was only really one thing on their minds – dry cakes.
The judging duo appeared to comment on the moistness of a cake a LOT and viewers couldn’t handle it.
“How was every cake on #GBBO dry?” said one fan.
Agreeing, another added: “Almost everyone’s cake is dry. What is the matter! #gbbo.”
The Great British Bake Off have now started to film at night which was a shock to viewers [Wenn] Filming at night
It’s a Great British Bake Off first but on Channel 4, we saw for the first time bakers whipping up a sweet treat during the night.
Seeing dark outside the tent, one viewer couldn’t help but question the producer’s move.
She wrote: “What’s up with all the night time filming? #GBBO.”
The Great British Bake Off contestants are causing a big stir on social media [Channel 4]
