The Duchess of Cambridge’s pregnancy news was announced earlier this month, with Kensington Palace releasing a statement explaining the expectant mum was again suffering from hyperemesis  gravidarum.

After having to miss her son Prince George’s first day of primary school due to the severe morning sickness condition, Kate Middleton has made her first public appearance since her baby news was announced.

Prince William’s wife of six years appeared in a video message to launch a national mental health campaign – a project she, the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry are all passionate about.

Kate hasn’t been seen in public since her pregnancy news was shared on September 4 2017.

But in her commitment to the mental health campaign, she opens up about the importance of young children discussing the topic.

Discussing the campaign, Kate said: “As parents, we all want our children to have the best possible start in life.

“Encouraging children to understand and be open about their feelings can give them the skills to cope with the ups and downs that life will throw at them as they grow up.

“It’s important that our children understand that emotions are normal, and that they have the confidence to ask for help if they are struggling. This is why I am proud to support the ‘You’re never too young to talk mental health’ campaign by the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families, which is being rolled out across primary schools this autumn.”

The Duchess of Cambridge is said to have recorded the clip in January this year.

Its release comes following reports Princess Diana’s death is the reason for Kate and William deciding to have a third child.

It is thought the royal couple decided to have another baby due to Prince William’s tragic experience of losing his mother at such a young age.

There is speculation Prince Charles’ eldest son wants his children to have a strong emotional support system, like he had with Prince Harry following the death of their mum, Princess Diana, in 1997.
