Love Island contestants have already said ‘I love you’ [ITV]
In fact, a quick Google search shows many couples in new relationships are constantly searching ‘when is it to ok to say I love you’.
It’s one of the highest search terms, alongside ‘I love you lyrics’, ‘I love you quotes’ and ‘do I love you’, as couples who are head over heels try and work out when and how to say the three magic words.
But now a new poll for YouGov has revealed exactly when lovebirds in Britain are most likely to say ILY, and it’s not what we thought.
Of the 4000 people asked only three per cent did it in a week, and 13 per cent within a month.
Marcel Somerville has already told Gabby Allen he loves her [Wenn]
However, it was within the first three months for most Brits, with a whopping 22 per cent admitting they said it within that time period.
While 14 per cent said it within six months and 27 per cent of people were so romantic they didn’t know.
The statistics come following a few ‘I love you’ bombs from inside the ITV2 Love Island villa.
After Marcel Somerville told Gabby Allen he loved her after less than a month of knowing her.
Chris Hughes has told Olivia Attwood he loves her [Wenn/ ITV2]
Responding to the grand gesture, Gabby told him: “I just think when people throw it around it doesn’t mean as much. You don’t love me yet.”
Since then Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies have both confessed their love for one another.
As has Chris Hughes, but is yet to get anything back from Olivia Attwood.
