But that doesn’t mean the gold medallist’s pregnancy has been without it’s struggles.
Laura Kenny, who is only the most successful female track cyclist in Olympic history, spoke to OK! Online about her journey so far.
The 24-year-old married fellow Olympic cyclist Jason Kenny in September 2016, and the fitness duo announced their pregnancy on Valentine’s Day this year.
Here’s everything we know about her pregnancy so far.

Until recently, the 24 weeks pregnant (at time of writing) expectant mum couldn’t believe everything was going so well with her pregnancy. That was until she was suddenly taken ill in a taxi.
Laura told OK! Online: “It was mad! I actually spoke to my midwife after and she thinks it was a bug I picked up. Because you know your immune system is low when you’re pregnant, it’s easy to pick stuff up.”
That’s why she’s also teamed up with Boots UK to inform other expectant mums about their health when pregnant, in particular dealing with forever-irritating hayfever.
“I think it puts people off summer babies,” she explained.

Laura opened up: “I’ve had hayfever for as long as I remember, and I also have asthma which makes my symptoms quite bad. When you fall pregnant, you fall into this protect yourself mode.”
Teaming up with Boots, she’s helped other hayfever suffering mums-to-be understand the lifestyle changes — such as never hanging your sheets outside to dry — can ease up symptoms.
She also really reached out to other mums of Twitter, saying: “Anybody got any tips for heartburn during pregnancy? It’s ruining all my meals!!”
Explaining how comforting it was to reach out to people who know what she’s going through, she said: “Weirdly enough Love Heart sweets were a common thing everyone told me to take. I’m more for the natural remedies… It was great to hear what other people tried.”
Fitness through pregnancy

Opening up about keeping up her active lifestyle while she’s expecting, Laura told us: “I didn’t want to feel scared of the pregnancy.”
She continued: “I wanted to enjoy it… [So I’ve] continued to exercise throughout.
“For me getting out in the fresh air, especially to begin with was great. Now I’ve been riding my bike in the garage rather than the road. It’s much more controllable. If I’m not feeling well, I can end the session.”
“I’m still going to the gym with Jason and I’ve started new things. I’ve started swimming again.. I guess I wouldn’t do [before] it because I was a cyclist.”
Laura explained: “Because I’m a first time mum, my body doesn’t know how to grow a child. I don’t want to put it into shock [which is why I] go on as normal, if you know what I mean.”
Parenting inspiration and style

And of course, Laura and Jason predict their baby will have a super sporty lifestyle, too.
Have you seen all the tiny trainers clogging up the OBE holder’s Instagram?
She told OK! Online: “I don’t like this whole sitting on a laptop and playing computer games in your bedroom thing. “
The blonde beauty told us: “I wouldn’t force them into [cycling] just because me and Jason love it, but I would like them to have an active lifestyle.”

Laura predicted that Jason, 29, will be the strict one out of the two, as he’s even firm with their pet dogs.
With her mum as her inspiration, Laura told us: “My mum is my role model in every sense of life. Whether that’s bring me and my sister up or all the weight she lost in 2000.”
Telling her mum absolutely everything, she revealed she hopes to parent her little one in the same open way.
Baby and birthing plans

Although they’ve found out the sex of the baby, the Kennys aren’t spilling any beans.
But Laura has opened up about her natural birth plan.
She said: “I guess that’s the way me and Jason have always been.
“As an athlete, that’s the thing you do. With the whole medication thing, we literally don’t take anything. I’m scared to take supplements! That’s the way we’ve always been so I just want to do it as natural as possible.”
And although she acknowledges it will be harder with a little one, of course the 2020 games are on the cards for the super ambitious athlete.
