This picture has gone viral – are the trainers pink and white or grey and green? [Twitter]
Another viral picture has got the entire internet both arguing with their friends and wondering whether they need to get their eyes tested.
This time the snap in question features a pair of trainers.
While half of people see the shoes as pink and white in the picture, the other half are convinced these trainers are grey and a shade of green or blue.
And people feel REALLY strongly about the matter.
Over on Twitter, the snap has got everyone talking. One person comically stated: “I showed this to all my classmates and now theyare fighting [whether] it’s pink white or grey.”

This isn’t the first time the same phenomena has overtaken the internet. Remember the white and gold — or blue and black — dress?
Back in February 2015, even celebs were debating online over the garment.
These dress was the original optical illusion that stumped the internet – blue and black or white and gold? [Instagram]
At the time, Taylor Swift took to Twitter to admit she was freaked out by the optical illusion frock, which she is certain is black and blue.
The singer tweeted: “I don’t understand this odd dress debate and I feel like it’s a trick somehow. I’m confused and scared. PS it’s OBVIOUSLY BLUE AND BLACK.
Meanwhile Cheryl shared the snap on Instagram, writing: “This is WHITE AND GOLDDDDD!!!””.
Kim Kardashian West asked: “What color is that dress? I see white & gold. Kanye sees black & blue, who is color blind?”.
The reason behind the optical illusion was later explained. Speaking to Buzzfeed news, Cedar Riener, the associate professor of psychology at Randolph-Macon College, explained: “We are always making decisions about the quantity of light that comes into our retina.”
Named luminance, this light is a combination or how much light is shining onto something we’re looking at, and how much is being reflected off the same object.
He continued: “In the case of the dress, some people are deciding that there is a fair amount of illumination on a blue and black (or less reflective) dress. Other people are deciding that it is less illumination on a white/gold dress (it is in shadow, but more reflective).”
And it’s the exact same thing that’s happening with the trainers. Now we’re just waiting to find out who is right…
